Lesbians are just damaged goods who couldn’t get a real man.

You’re all whores destroying the fabric of society.

Paragraph after paragraph. Laugh-crying emojis performing casualness over rage. Men who come back repeatedly, sometimes for hours, to demonstrate increasingly elaborate displays of contempt for women who dare to have opinions online.

The insults follow a predictable pattern, a Mad Libs of masculine insecurity: You’re probably a single mother. You’re probably loose. You’re probably ugly and fat. No man wants you. You’ll die alone with cats.

Our men are dying. Not quickly, not dramatically, but in the slow erosion that happens when you measure your worth by what you can carry until your knees buckle.
